The Adventures of the Sentinel is a audio adventure serial about the adventures of a World War II-era superhero named the Sentinel who protects Metro City and battles against the villain the Black Scarab. The story is from the fictional comic book Whiz!Bam!Pow! (the story is available as text) and the audio drama is performed in the style of an old time radio show.
For the WWII-era youth of the Whiz!Bam!Pow! world, The Adventures of the Sentinel radio show was the ultimate escape. After debuting in Whiz!Bam!Pow! Comics #7 in 1938 as a mere backup feature, the Sentinel ignited the imaginations of kids (and adults) the world over as the star of the biggest radio hit of the 1940s.
