Description
Welcome to Night Vale is a surreal horror audio drama series that is presented as a radio show broadcast from the fictional desert town of Night Vale. While the show mainly consists of its host reading fictional news, community bulletins, and advertisements, these seemingly ordinary announcements reveal dark and mysterious events that are happening throughout the town.
Each episode includes a piece of music from independently-published musicians and bands that is played during the radio show's weather report. The show's theme and backgropund music is composed and performed by the band Disparition.1)
The series is written by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, and narrated by Cecil Baldwin, with occasional guest voices.
Welcome to Night Vale is a twice-monthly podcast in the style of community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events.
