Sorry, Wrong Number

Sorry, Wrong Number is a modern adaptation of a classic radio theater production originally written by Lucille Fletcher and broadcast on the Suspense radio program on May 25, 1943, starring Agnes Moorehead. The story was also adapted for a 1948 film noir starring Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster.

In 1940's New York City, Mrs. Elbert Stevenson is a spoiled, neurotic invalid whose only contact with the outside world is her bedside telephone. One night, as she tries to contact her husband, a wire gets crossed, and she overhears plans for a murder. Horrified, she frantically tries to enlist help through various operators and the police, subjecting everyone to her high-handed antics… only to realize this murder may be more personal than she thought.
