Bend in the River is an eight-episode audio drama series about a man who inadvertently travels back in time and disrupts his family's timeline. The series is written by the Chippewa Valley Writer's Guild, voiced by Chippewa Valley community members, and produced by Blugold Radio 99.9 FM.
Bend in the River tells the story of 25-year-old David Sundby, who, while en route to his grandfather's funeral in River Bend, Wisconsin, is forced to take the old ferry following a bridge closure. Upon doing so, he finds himself transported to the summer of 1958, where he disrupts the time-space continuum (including meddling with his grandparents' futures, as well as his own) in an effort to return home. Along the way he meets a wide-ranging cast of characters from River Bend—only some of whom believe he's a Communist spy.
